Lab of Prototypes
Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting the 'Lab of Prototypes' workshop for 100+ students starting on the masters at the Royal Danish Academy, Institute for Architecture and Design.
The theme was “a Day's Rhythm” – an exploration of how our personal and cultural rhythms shape our environments and communities.
The workshop allowed students to draw from their own unique experiences and cultural backgrounds, transforming abstract ideas into creative, tangible forms
that could enhance, mute, limit or in any way modify the experience of their assigned time sequence. The materials repurposed were left-over materials donated by the BLOX:HUB material lab.
Why prototype?
/ Hands-on learning: Turning concepts into reality teaches us invaluable lessons that theoretical knowledge alone can't.
/ Collaboration: The students worked together, learning how to integrate feedback and iterate on their designs. The theme encouraged students to share and integrate their personal and cultural rhythms, fostering a deeper connection.
/ Innovation: Prototyping fosters creativity and sparks new ideas, helping us envision solutions to today’s challenges.
Thank you to the incredible students and their mentors at the academy who participated and brought fresh energy into this initiative!
