It Takes a Village is an architecture studio and network facilitator.

As a studio, we practice care as a skill and resource.

As a facilitator, we service the network by setting frames, tables, and conversations to meet, work and evolve around.

We design processes and projects for architecture to shape and support a caring and inclusive future.

We are neither big nor small

We are a flexible constellation which allows us to take various sizes and types of projects.

Care is a skill and a practice

Care isn’t an eternal natural resource, it is a skill and a practice which must be cultivated, nourished and trained.

We:

Care to notice the spoken and unspoken needs around us

Take care of our responsibilities and obligations as designers and humans

Give care to people and projects who require our expertise and support

Receive care by surrounding ourselves with like-minded people

Supporting Transitions

Care isn’t a static or permanent skill, feeling or experience - it shifts with time, context and the people in question.

Transitioning into a perspective of care, takes work, support and communities. We assist those who follow time, and who care to notice the shift in intentions, needs and communities.

We draw, design, and build spaces to care for those who use them today. Tomorrow, we will adjust, maintain, and cultivate.

Success is collective

We see ourselves as the round table in the open kitchen - the host, the mother, the centre of conversation and people.

We focus on bringing people, skills and visions together in projects that care for people's involvement and inclusion.
